ENDOWMENTS

Endowed Gifts

An endowed fund can be established through the CEI Foundation to support student scholarships, CEI programs, professional development of staff and faculty or any area where you wish to fulfill a need.

When you create an endowment, we invest the principal amount and use the earnings annually to support your preferred project on a continual basis. A minimum contribution of $10,000 is required to establish an endowment, but you are welcome to contribute to your endowment to increase the annual dividend. There are no charges or fees to create an endowment, and 100% of the derivative will be used for your project.

Each year, 5% of the principal value of your endowment will be used to support your program of choice. Our balanced portfolio is closely managed by the Finance Committee of the College of Eastern Idaho Foundation’s Board of Directors.

Some of our current endowments include:

Bill and Shirley Maeck Family Scholarship – Long-time supporters of local education causes, the Maeck family set up an endowment that provides several annual scholarships to students studying health care and other fields.

Idaho Steel Scholarship – Aimed at providing assistance to those in our welding programs, Idaho Steel has been a tremendous supporter of students who will contribute as professionals in the welding community.

Hazel Rose Family Scholarship – Created through the Idaho Community Foundation, Hazel and Rodgers Rose created a scholarship endowment that has been assisting CEI students for many years.

Opportunity Scholarship – Set up by anonymous donors, this endowment provides scholarships to CEI health care students, with a preference given to minority students.

Brady Family / Joshua David Clifford Memorial Scholarship – Set up by Joshua’s grandparents, Cliff and Ruth Brady, as a way to memorialize this bright CEI student who passed away unexpectedly. One scholarship is given annually to a business office technology CEI student.
